The Automated Multi-sorbent Tube Air Sampler (AMTAS) is an automated archival air sampler which was designed for use aboard the space shuttle and space station. An archival air sampler could also be useful onboard passenger aircraft and military troop transport vehicles and in operation near chemical plants to archive the air during a gas release. The AMTAS will collect up to 16 different samples at pre-determined intervals and archive the samples for analysis at a later date when the unit is desorbed. This small, compact battery operated sampler can be triggered manually, automatically or operated by other air quality equipment. Desorbing equipment is also available.
